Pradeep & Divya -- Intimate beach destination wedding | Kovalam, Chennai
How often does a wedding photographer in India get to document a "small" wedding with no more than 25 guests?
Don't get me wrong. Big fat Indian weddings are fun. But, oftentimes I crave simple, intimate weddings that are fairly easy to photograph, because at the end of the day you aren't mentally and physically drained. That even makes it possible for you to relive the day, and not see it just as a fleeting blur of people and energy crescendos.
Pradeep is a wedding photographer, too. I have known him for a few years now, and to photograph a friend's wedding always takes a huge burden off your shoulders -- you know that they can be far more forgiving even if you mess up. Thankfully, I didn't have to put him in that position. Divya and he planned their woodland/beach wedding to perfection, while keeping it really (and I mean really) simple. Nothing was overdone, and I loved the subtlety in every single element -- right from the pretty arch with white satin and green vine, floor mats for guests, and "white" as the primary color. Because they had just the closest of friends attending the short, sweet ceremony with just an exchange of vows and rings, time was never an issue. I must admit, this was my most favorite wedding of 2017 and to experience it in the middle of the final month of the year meant a lot.
